2014 New Smyrna 150 post race review

The race came down to an all out battle for 1st and 2nd.  The two drivers competing for the win were Cameron Hayley, and Daniel Suarez.  Both drivers are up and coming stars that can easily make it into the higher divisions of NASCAR.  In the end Suarez picked up the win over Hayley. This is Suarez's 2nd career win, and his team's 13th win since 2010.  Suarez also races in the NASCAR Toyota Series, and won the last race (in November) at Mexico City. The top five was Daniel Suarez, Cameron Hayley, Brandon Jones, Ben Rhodes, and Lee Pulliam.  This was Lee Pulliam's rookie debut in the K&N Pro Series.  Pulliam was expected to do well because he is a two time Whelen         All-American Series Champion.  Nearing the end of the race a caution set up Pulliam and Suarez to restart at the front.  Pulliam fell back to 5th, and held 5th for the rest of the race.  The final four laps were nearly tied for the lead between Suarez and Hayley.  Suarez took the white flag and went on to win the race by a .083 margin over Hayley. The rest of the top 10 were Kenzie Ruston, Gray Gaulding, Mackena Bell, Brandon Gdovic, and Kaz Grala.  Kenzie Ruston lead four laps, and became the first female to lead a lap in the K&N Pro Series since Danica Patrick in 2010.

I never heard of them. Pulliam is an interesting story.
