2013 Chase Predictions

Matt Kenseth has won at three 1.5 mile tracks, so to have ChicagoLand Speedway (1.5 miles) next should be interesting.  He is definitely expected to do well there.

Jimmie Johnson is always a threat at almost any track and especially 1.5 mile.  He should get at least a top 5 this race if he wants to start the chase with an early lead.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. needs to do well at ChicagoLand if he wants to have a shot at the cup.  With being one of the few drivers in the chase without a win, he needs to show people what he is capable of.

Kurt Busch is an odd driver.  I don't know what to expect.  He is a great driver with a not so great team.  His pit crew will be his downfall or his rising though.  At Richmond (9/7) he lost 5 spots from pitting early in the race and then 3 later.  It is understood that a low budget (one car team) will have a worse pit crew but they have to do well at ChicagoLand.

You got to be winning races to win the chase, Earnhardt hasn't really contended for many wins this season.

I don't Stewart-Haas had good equipment this year for all their teams. Newman is going to finish 10th, 11th or 12th in the standings.

Watch out for Joey Logano at Chicagoland.

I think Matt Kenseth is a favorite, you cant count out Johnson, I think Kyle Busch is looking good this year, and Carl Edwards could get hot after winning at Richmond.

Clint Bowyer always does well in the chase, but I don't think he'll win. He doesn't win many races.

But watch out for Joey Logano, not just at Chicagoland but in this chase, he's my dark-horse.
